熱固性樹酯基體在加工過程受熱作用發(fā)生交聯(lián)形成體型網(wǎng)狀結(jié)構(gòu)，其制品在常態(tài)下尺寸穩(wěn)定好，成型之后發(fā)生的后收縮性也小。制品在長(zhǎng)時(shí)間的連續(xù)載荷作用下其形狀和尺寸變化極小，即蠕變性小。其蠕變性能取決于載荷的大小，溫度高低和加載時(shí)間的長(zhǎng)短諸因素。在固定的載荷和溫度條件下，長(zhǎng)時(shí)間加載后熱固性塑料的蠕變量要比熱塑性塑料小得多。
